Webinar: New Enforcement Campaigns for "Free Scan" Software

Wednesday, September 26th at 9:00am Pacific

Free scanning has been a hot topic since Microsoft Defender updated its guidelines and posted a Defender blog article about this in January of 2018.  The meaning of this most recent change is industry-changing for many app vendors.  And Bing has recently used these guidelines to target some CleanApps.org members.  It is safe to assume that enforcement by other regulators such as the AV community will begin as well.

Attend this webinar to answer the following:

  1. What are the ‘new’ Microsoft Defender guidelines that are impacting so many apps?
  2. How and when will the new guidelines be enforced?
  3. How does this impact my app?
  4. What product-level strategies and acquisition flow strategies do app vendors have that can be considered compliant?
  5. What are the consequences of these new strategies from a revenue perspective?

This interactive webinar will include a review of AppEsteem’s ACR-004 which reflects the intent of the Defender guidelines followed by examples of product/acquisition strategies different app vendors are experimenting with in order to comply with this impactful guideline.   The examples will be accompanied with interactive discussion and Q&A.

This webinar will take place September 26, 2018 and a recording made available to all members of CleanApps.org.
